National Day celebrations don’t get any bigger than in the Middle East and this year’s 48th year of marking the foundation of the UAE honoured the legacy of our ancestors. The impressive event showcased a collection of patriotic performances created by renowned Artistic Director and Executive Producer Catherine Ugwu.
PRG audio and lighting teams were engaged by event producers Betty Productions for this year’s spectacle at Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
 
Having provided the audio services for the UAE National Day events since 2011, PRGdeltasound team are well versed in requirements of the venue and the expectations for special events of this calibre. This year we worked closely with Auditoria to produce a polished sound system consisting of L-Acoustics Kara hung from the stadium roof, K2 ground stack units, SB28s and 168 5XTs. Throughout the VIP area we also included our classic Syva subs for an immersive experience.  Handling the playback was the Ovation System and two of our DiGiCo SD5 consoles.
The lighting was a collaboration with our colleagues from PRGUK with support from our team of locally based lighting experts and technicians and the design team at WoodfroffeBassetDesign. The comprehensive package included more than 700 lights, including PRG proprietary products - BestBoy, BadBoyband Icons as well as other fixtures like BMFL Blade and Washes, Ayrton Khamsins and Perseos.
