When Snoh Aalegra’s team approached lighting designer Ricardo Rojas about her upcoming tour and headline show at the Sydney Opera House, they envisioned creating a spectacular experience for her first performance in Australia. The show was designed in-the-round, with a sold-out audience surrounding the stage, eagerly awaiting an unforgettable evening.

Snoh Aalegra is renowned for her captivating performances and emotive music, and Rojas aimed to create a design that matched her on-stage energy. "My goal was to design something that could change forms throughout the performance," Rojas explained. "Something that could feel grand yet intimate, vulnerable yet powerful, intentional, graceful, emotionally charged, atmospheric, and dreamy. A living, breathing design that could evolve, unfold, and blossom during the performance."

The centerpiece of this innovative design was the use of beautiful kinetic sphere lights, which played a crucial role in bringing Rojas’s vision to life.

Working with PRG Australia for the first time, Rojas had a remarkable experience. "Jason Glass was our account manager, and he did an incredible job. Charlie Hall, our crew chief, took great care of us. They were very thorough and really did an incredible job on a design that required a high level of attention to detail and preparation," Rojas said.

Crucial to the success of this collaboration was PRG Account Executive Brooke Hershey. Having known Rojas for years, Brooke facilitated the connection between his team and PRG Australia. "We were finally able to link up for this project. She was the one who connected us with the team at PRG Australia. Thank you, Brooke!"
